ইবন কুদামাহ আল-মাকদিসি (রহিমাহুল্লাহ) বলেছেন: “জেনে রাখো, অধিকাংশ মানুষ ধ্বংস হয় মানুষের নিন্দার ভয় এবং প্রশংসার আকাঙ্ক্ষার কারণে। তাই তাদের সকল কাজ আবর্তিত হয় মানুষের সন্তুষ্টির চারপাশে — প্রশংসা পাওয়ার আশায় এবং সমালোচনার ভয় থেকে। এটাই ধ্বংসের পথসমূহের অন্তর্ভুক্ত।”
